Peekskill, New York

The City of Peekskill is part of the Lower Hudson Valley in Westchester County. We have a population of about 22,000. Although our population is large, many people remark on how we have been able to maintain the feeling of a small town. Peekskill is a very walkable community, which has helped bring people together, and build a stronger sense of community cohesiveness. We have a broad range of nonprofits, social services and community based organizations that are working in our community to make Peekskill a good place to live.

We are committed to bringing more cohesiveness and trust to our community residents and local organizations through a range of collaborative community building efforts. Since we began our work we have been focusing specifically around issues of housing and transportation. We work on a range of initiatives that contribute to one of our critical long term goals: creating a community in which there are a broad range of affordable, intergenerational, transit-friendly housing opportunities for residents of all ages.
