Baltimore, MD
The
Baltimore Community Foundation (BCF) is home to more than 600 different charitable funds, established by individuals, families and organizations to carry out their philanthropic plans. BCF invites donors to Invest in Baltimore
® through its civic agenda, which combines economic development with poverty reduction by employing strategic grants, targeted initiatives and advocacy organized along nine “paths”: human services, youth, education, transportation, neighborhoods, diversity, environment, arts and culture, and promoting Baltimore.
An initiative of BCF’s Human Services Path, Neighbors in Deed is the Baltimore site of the Community Experience Partnership, a national initiative funded by Atlantic Philanthropies to connect older adults with these opportunities. Two Neighbors in Deed communities, Highlandtown and Greater Charles Village, are also supported by Communities for All Ages.
BCF is partnering with CFAA to create opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to get involved in their communities, because projects that are inclusive tend to be more sustainable over time. Together, BCF and CFAA are expanding existing programs and creating new ones to help more individuals and neighborhoods participate in making Baltimore better.
