National Network

The national office for the Communities for All Ages initiative is housed at The Intergenerational Center at Temple University. The staff at the Communities for All Ages national office offer on-going support, consultation and capacity building to local coalitions and funders across the country.

Currently there are 25 diverse communities in the Communities for All Ages national network. The national office provides each local site with a range of supports throughout each step of their community building process (coalition/team building, community assessment, planning, implementation and expansion/sustainability). Resources provided by the national office include: training and technical assistance, coaching and consultation, coordination of cross-site peer learning opportunities, coordination of annual national conference, development of materials for funding, assessment, planning, recruitment, organizing and communication, and assistance with fundraising.

The Communities for All Ages national office does not require sites to have a particular starting point or a community focus on a pre-determined area for improvement to be included in the network. Instead, local sites are encouraged to build on existing community agendas and to take advantage of opportunities for early, tangible successes. Successful Communities for All Ages build their capacities via the Communities for all Ages key strategies  and continue to grow over time.

The Communities for All Ages national office also offers consultation, coaching and training services to community groups, foundations, and organizations on a range of topics related to intergenerational community building and development. Contact Dr. Nancy Henkin at nancyh@temple.edu for information on consultation services.
