In November of 2009, the Comstock Community Center learned that it had been chosen to receive a $1.9 million loan from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to purchase an empty building to be converted into a community learning center. This project coincided and complements the Comstock Communities for All Ages initiative.
We are thrilled to announce the grand opening of the Community Learning Center on June 21, 2010. The CLC will offer a wide range of programs that will provide ample opportunities for engagement by local residents of all ages. Programming includes:
Infant/toddler care
Pre-school programs
Summer camp
Before and after school care
Youth drop-in center
Mentoring programs
After school tutoring
Student assessment programs
The Community Learning Center is located at 1046 River Street in Comstock. Two community open houses will be offered on:
Thursday, June 17
8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
And
Friday, June 18
2:00 p.m. – 7:00 pm.
